- What is a wink?
A wink is a tool which, at the click of a button, allows you tell another member that you're interested.
- How will I know if someone has sent me a wink?
For a full list of who's winked at you, simply visit My Homepage and click on the 'Who's winked at you' link.
- How do I respond to a wink?
There are two ways you can respond. Firstly, you can simply wink back. Alternatively, you can start building a deeper level of communication by sending them back an email.
- How will I know if someone has emailed me?
Emails from other members will be sent to the email address you've registered with us. They'll appear like this: personals@flirtnik.com.
- How do I email another member?
To email another member, simply click on the 'Send email' button which appears on the member's profile page. That'll open a page in which you can write your email. When it comes to sending, you won't have access to their email address. All you need to do is click on the Send button and we'll automatically deliver it to the right address
- How do I change the address that emails from other members come to?
To change the email address that you've registered with us, login then click on "Account settings" in the left-hand navigation. On the "Account settings" page, enter your new email address in the appropriate field
- How do I stop another member from contacting me?
Visit that member's profile page and click on the link that says 'Block this member'. They will be blocked from communicating with you immediately. Should you subsequently decide to allow them to resume communication with you, simply delete them from your Blocked list.
- Why haven't any other members contacted me?
Before confirming that no one has made contact with you, have you checked your Ping list? You'll find it by logging in and clicking on 'Who's winked at you' in the left-hand navigation. Secondly, are you sure that the email address you normally use is the same one that you've registered with us (it's possible that people have emailed you but the emails have gone elsewhere)? To check, login, then click on "Account settings" in the left-hand navigation. While you're on the "Account settings" page, have a look to see if your profile is set to Visible (as opposed to Hidden).
Assuming there are no technical reasons as to why you've received nothing, the answer probably lies in the fact that your profile simply isn't grabbing people's attention. To turn things around, make sure that it includes great photos (profiles with photos typically get 8 times more traffic than those without) and that you include some close-ups of your face. Next, make sure that your profile is packed with engaging information about who you are and what you like. With a profile that's entertaining to read, you'll be hauling 'em in.
- When I contact another member, will they see my real name and contact details?
Neither your real name nor your contact details are ever revealed by us to other people. To maintain your anonymity, ensure that you choose a member name that is different to your real one and don't include any contact details in your profile or emails.
